The force of Love- Part 2

Image result for god is love

” Love is a flag flowing high from the vessels of my heart, from the vessels of my heart, from the vessels of my heart, love is a flag flowing form the vessels of my heart for the King is in residence there.

So fly it high in the sky let the whole world know let the whole world, let the whole world know, let the whole world, fly it high in the sky let the whole world know that the King is in residence there.”

I used to sing that song in primary school, but embarrassingly I really don’t know who the song writer is. I recall it now because I think it is quite profound. I believe it echoes what love really is.

Last week I wrote on how you know if you love God. You can click here to read if you did not get a chance to read it last week.

This week I will look at the benefits of loving God.

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” ( 1 Cor 2:9)

From the above we see that there is a reward for loving God. it is not say that we should only love Him for what we can get, but God’s nature is to reward us for our act of obedience. Hebrews 6:10 says “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Remember we said from last week that if you love God you serve him and do his will.

So what are the benefits of loving God.

1.Supernatural protection- all that concerns you, your children ,spouses, car etc. is all covered under this protection “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” ( Psalm 34:7)

2.Increase in wisdom- God is an excellent God as I often say, so if He is in you then it goes without saying that you will carry the same virtues and you become known for your great insight into things

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” (Rom 8:35-37)

3. Increase in strength- because we know there is a higher power at work within us.

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.” ( Psa 84:7).

4.Receive honour- You cannot love God and not be distinguished. That is a lie from the devil. Peter loved Jesus and he was honoured. Jesus said to him feed my sheep.

“So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. ( Jhn 21:15-17)

5.Our love for man increases- it is impossible to love God and not to have tolerance or love for others. As you show love to man God will increase you. The bible says in Proverbs 19:17

“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”

6.You become fearless- you love God so He is for you, and you know if He is for you then no one can be against you. You therefore should carry the mentality that nothing can stand against you. Whatever cannot stand against God cannot stand against you.

7.Divine favour- When you love God He will move the hearts of people to favour you like the Egyptians did when the Israelites were leaving Egypt. God will also move the hearts of men on your behalf to grant you as you desire.

8.Faith increases- As said last week if you love God you will read his world. The bible tells us that faith comes by hearing, so simply put loving God increases your faith and that faith will take you to a realm of “commanding mountains” to be move from your life.

“Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.” ( Zech 4:7)

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.” ( Matt 21:21)

9.You intimidate the devil- We are often afraid of the prince of darkness but you know what I am telling you today that when the love of God is truly in you no devil in hell can harass you. You instead will bring it to his camp. Remember that demons tremble at the name of Jesus.

“And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” ( Acts 19:15). From your love the devil will now say (your name) “I know your standing with God so let me leave you in peace.” That is my prayer for you in Jesus name.

10.The more prosperous you become- We know Job was an unrepentant lover of God both in his afflicted state and before. The bible describes Job as the greatest of all men in the east.

“There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.” ( Job 1:1-3)

Take away

Love is not a feeling it’s a choice that you consciously walk in. As you walk in love I see 1 Cor 2:9 speaking for you in Jesus name.

Remain blessed.

Kerrian! LOVE the 8 benefits of knowing God you have written about. All of these things have been true in my life. As I started talking on the race God called me to run, I found that the fear that once consumed me was gone!
